vibrant, and more alive than when they were entrusted to us.
Why We’re Here
Because one day we realized something simple and devastating: if we didn’t act, we would wake
up to find the parklands altered, engineered and the lakes gone. All while our city officials
facilitated a singular process with a utility that does not share our values and without requiring
meaningful alternatives.
How We Win
We protect what we love by standing together. A region of communities that know its history,
guards its truth, and refuses quiet erasure is powerful. We win by showing up, speaking plainly,
and insisting that the Shaker Lakes Parklands remain what they have always been -living,
public, historic and ours.
Who We Are
We are people from a broad swath of our community who care deeply that the Shaker Lakes Parklands.
We understand that they were given to the public to be enjoyed in perpetuity. We believe in
stewardship and in leaving behind a true sense of place for the next generation. These vibrant, historic
parklands hold our shared memories, our living library, and deserve to endure.
